Kinzie Rolls Over
Last night Kinzie rolled over for the first time! I couldn't believe it so I had her do it 4 times and then called and told her Daddy. We have had her roll over about 20 more times so we could see if it was just a fluke. Nope - she can do it everytime. Colton was 4 months before he could roll over (he was very chunky) so you can imagine our surprise at Kinzie rolling at 7 weeks! Way to go Kinzie Lanae!

Kinzie Lanae is Here!

Kinzie made her arrival on October 23rd at 3:52am. She weighed 7lbs. and was 19.5 inches. Here are some photos taken at the hospital. We are doing well at this time. Colton likes her and has not yet told us to take her back as many people told us to expect. We'll see what the next few weeks and months bring! Kinzie is a sweet little girl and a very good baby! As our pediatrician put it -"I think she's a keeper!"

Day with Thomas the Train
We went to see Thomas the Train a couple of weeks ago. Colton had a great time with his cousins Avyn and Kason. They had so many things for the kids to do - here are a few of the highlights.

1st Day of School
Colton started "school" this year. He is going to the Westwood church of Christ's Day School two days a week. So far he is loving it. He has no doubts about going as he bounds out of the car and says "bye, Mom". I, on the other hand, had a little harder time dropping him off the first couple of times and asked Jason over and over, "why are we doing this?". I am glad he likes it, though. It is an organized social time which is great for him because he is a social bug - and hopefully he'll have his colors down by the end of the year! Everything is still green to him.
I am a little ashamed of myself, however. I dropped the ball on the first day of school cookies. My Mom used to always have homemade cookies the 1st day of school and I was determined to do the same. After we ran a couple of errands, though, I didn't have time. Jason told me it was OK there was still time as school technically doesn't start until kindergarten. He did take us for 1st day of school ice cream when we picked Colton up to make up for it! Here are some pics from the 1st day.
Next Michael Phelps??

Our Vacation 2008
We took Colton to Kansas City last week for a little get away before his tonsillectomy and before he starts his "school" program. We went to the T-Rex Cafe and ate with the dinosaurs, Cabelas and saw lots of animals and to the Great Wolf Lodge where they have a huge indoor waterpark. Colton loved it. He rode all 8 slides and everytime he came down one he'd say "do it 'gain". Here are some pictures of him. You can move the curser over the pictures as they come into view and see the captions or click on "View all images" to see them with the captions on slide.com.

Update on the Hazzards
I know we have been a little behind on our blogging. We haven't been up to a whole lot except some home projects and trying to stay cool in the heat. Colton loves to swim so we try to go as much as we can. He already goes off the diving board and can kick his legs to get himself back to the side. He has decided he is a big boy and has been potty training for about a month. He still has a few accidents but has been doing pretty well overall. The Dr. was right - when they decided to do it themselves is should make it easier. We are so proud of him! He will be having his tonsils and adenoids out on Aug. 21st. His tonsils touch in the middle and he snores a lot and we've been concerned he has sleep apnea. He also chokes on food and won't eat many things. We hope this will help him. He begins Sonshine School on Sept. 2nd. He will go Tues./Thurs. from 9:30 to 2:30. He is so excited - He talks about it all the time.
We are about 3 months from Kinzie's (or Kenzie) due date. We are debating the spelling right now. We have written it down so many times I think we have about decided it doesn't matter to us. We'll let you know once we've decided. We have painted her room - we just need to do the stenciling and I have been washing all of the clothes Emily has passed on to us. Thank you, Emily.
I have put two updates below on Colton. Hope you enjoy!

Spiderman
We went out to eat last night at Old Chicago with our friends Kelly and Jamie. Little did we know that Tuesday nights they have a lady that does face painting. Jason took Colton over to do his. I was thinking a little something on his cheek but he came back with his face painted as Spiderman. Jason said as soon as Colton saw the picture he couldn't be talked into anything else.
He loves it! I took the full body picture first and then said "Let's take one more closer." These are the two I took. Then Colton said "Just one more."
(Uncle James gave him the bear the other day. When he got it I asked him what it was and he said "Bear has on OU shirt." We were surprised since we didn't teach him that was the OU logo and we didn't think he knew very many letters yet. He's too smart for us.)
Colton's Jeep
Colton could hardly wait for the batteries
to charge so he could drive it. The last few weeks he has worn tracks in the grass in our backyard driving it in circles. Look out! Here he comes!

It's A ??
We had an ultrasound with my cousin, Courtney, last week and ................ IT'S A GIRL!! We were surprised because we really thought it was another boy. We are excited, though, and are beginning to get her room ready. We will be picking our fabric soon for Nana to make her quilt, too. We look forward to welcoming Kinzie Lanae in mid-November. Colton seems excited, too. Anytime we go in her room he says ''Kinzie's Room".

Sesame Street Live
Last week Mommy and Daddy took me to see Elmo and all the gang from Sesame Street. I stood in awe watching everything. Some of them came right by me - Telly even patted my head. (Mom's note: all day Colton kept saying "Telly, bonk head!") After the show we ate mexican food - my favorite. I love cheese dip!! What a fun day!
when he grows up!
Colton's 2nd Birthday
Colton celebrated his 2nd Birthday on February 9th. He had a lot of fun with all of the family that came to help share the fun. We had a strawberry Elmo cake - both Colton's choice - and homemade Butterfinger Ice Cream (Daddy's choice!) Happy Birthday, Big 2 year old! I can't believe how big you are!!
Let's go for a ride!
all by myself
